Cinnamon buns
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 7 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- melted butter - 6 Tbsp
- shortening - 6 Tbsp
- raisins - 1 c
- nuts optional - 1 item
- beaten eggs - 3 item
- yeast - 2 Tbsp
- lukewarm water - 1 c
- scalded milk - 1 c
How to make cinnamon buns:
Mix yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar and warm water; set aside. Scald milk; add shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups flour to make a batter. Add yeast mixture and beaten eggs; beat well. Add 5 more cups flour or enough to make a soft dough. Knead and place in greased bowl. Cover and rise about 2 hours. Roll about 1/4-inch and spread with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon; add nuts or raisins if desired. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Weeknight, Yeast breads.
