sifted flour - 3 c
cream of tartar - 2 tsp
soda - 1 tsp
salt - 1 tsp
shortening - 1/2 c
butter - 1/2 c
eggs - 2 item
sugar - 1 c
vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make christmas cookies:

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in the shortening and butter. Beat eggs. Add sugar and vanilla and add to flour mixture. Chill 1 hour.

Roll out; shape. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°. Decorate. Add 1/2 cup milk for drop cookies.
