Chow mein casserole
Ingredients/Components
- water - 2 c
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- can water chestnuts, sliced and drained - 5 oz
- uncooked long grain rice - 3/4 c
- boneless pork, cubed - 1 lb
How to make chow mein casserole:
Brown pork in shortening in skillet. Add remaining ingredients. Place in 2-quart casserole and cover. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours. Remove cover during last 30 minutes. Add additional water if necessary. Add chow mein noodles to top for the last 5 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Ground beef.
