  • sugar - 1 qt
  • salt - 2 Tbsp
  • ground cloves - 1 Tbsp
  • ground cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
  • ground ginger - 1 Tbsp
  • stalk celery - 1 item
  • cabbage - 1 qt
  • tomatoes - 1 qt
  • turmeric - 2 Tbsp
  • onions - 1 pt
  • apples - 1 qt
  • sweet pickles - 1 qt
  • ground mustard - 2 Tbsp
  • red peppers - 2 item

How to make chow chow:

Grind tomatoes first and drain in colander. Mix all ingredients together and simmer gently 40 minutes.
