Chocolate satin frosting
Ingredients/Components
- hot water - 2 Tbsp
- sifted confectioners sugar
- softened butter - 4 Tbsp
- sq - 3 oz
- rum extract - 1/4 tsp
- slightly beaten egg - 1 item
- pecans or walnuts, chopped fine - 1 item
How to make chocolate satin frosting:
Blend sugar and hot water into chocolate. Beat half of egg into chocolate mixture, then beat in remaining half of egg. Beat in butter, 1 tablespoon at a time. Blend in extract. (Frosting will be thin at this point.) Place pan in ice water and beat until spreading consistency. Spread on cake. Trim by placing nut halves on top and sides.
