Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- stick margarine - 1 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- Crisco - 1 c
- margarine - 1 c
- sugar, divided - 1 c
- baking cocoa - 1/2 c
- quick-cooking oatmeal - 3 c
- cream milk - 1/2 c
- Add eggs, cream and vanilla; blend well
How to make chocolate sandwich cookies:
In a large mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs, cream and vanilla; blend well. Combine dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture. Drop by spoonful onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until done. Cool. Meanwhile, prepare filling.Filling:1 c. milk3 Tbsp. flour1 c. sugar, divided1 stick margarine1 c. Crisco1 tsp. vanilla pinch of salt Cook milk, flour and 1/2 cup sugar until thick; cover and cool. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Spread between two cookies. These can be frozen if desired.
