Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 4 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 item
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1 c
- large marshmallows - 1 item
- white sugar - 1 c
- lukewarm milk - 3/4 c
- crushed pineapple, drained - 1 c
- Add eggs and vanilla and continue beating until fluffy
How to make haystacks:
Beat sugar and margarine together. Add eggs and vanilla and continue beating until fluffy. Add flour, salt, baking powder and soda; mix thoroughly. Add nuts and pineapple and mix well.Drop by 1/2 teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Cut large marshmallows in half; put marshmallow half on each cookie while hot. Cover each cookie entirely with icing and roll in coconut.Icing:1 stick margarine3/4 c. lukewarm milk1/2 c. Crisco1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Beat 10 minutes until creamy.
