  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 lb
  • pinch salt - 1 item

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cocoa Icing:1/2 c. Crisco6 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla2 c. sugar2/3 c. milk1/4 tsp. salt Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating good. Sift flour with dry ingredients and add to mixture alternately with milk. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350°. Do not open oven while baking.

Mix icing ingredients and boil rapidly 2 minutes. Beat until smooth. Put on cooled cake.
