- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/2 lb
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 lb
- pinch salt - 1 item
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cocoa Icing:1/2 c. Crisco6 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla2 c. sugar2/3 c. milk1/4 tsp. salt Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating good. Sift flour with dry ingredients and add to mixture alternately with milk. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350°. Do not open oven while baking.Mix icing ingredients and boil rapidly 2 minutes. Beat until smooth. Put on cooled cake.
