  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • unbaked 9-inch pastry shell - 1 item
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • flaked coconut - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • light corn syrup - 1 c

How to make chocolate pecan pie:

Combine the first 4 ingredients in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Let cool slightly. Add eggs, vanilla and salt, stirring well. Stir in 1/2 cup pecans and coconut. Pour filling into shell; top with remaining pecans. Bake at 375° for 55 minutes.
