Chocolate mousse
Ingredients/Components
- semi-sweet chocolate pieces - 1 pkg
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- vanilla or rum - 1 Tbsp
- grated orange rind - 1 Tbsp
- heavy cream
How to make chocolate mousse:
Combine sugar, flour and egg yolks; stir in milk; heav over low heat, stirring with whisk until mixture reaches consistency of mustard sauce. Add butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add chocolate; stir until melted. Stir in vanilla or rum, and orange rind. Cool slightly. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and 1 cup of the cream, whipped stiff. Pour into sherbert dishes. Chill about 5 hours, until firm. Whip remaining cream as topping.Recipe categories: Desserts, Chocolate, < 15 mins.
