Chocolate crunch
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/2 lb
- chocolate bits - 1 c
- saltine crackers enough to cover 17 x 11-inch cookie sheet
How to make chocolate crunch:
Heat oven to 350°. Cover cookie sheet (11 x 17-inch) with foil, then cover foil with saltine crackers, making sure pan is completely covered (see note). Heat the butter and sugar until smooth. Cover saltines with mixture. Spoon over and cover well. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Check after 15 minutes so it doesn't burn. Remove from oven. Cover with the chocolate bits. When melted, spread over saltines. Put in freezer or refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours, until hard. Break into bite size pieces.Note: Some saltines might have to be cut to completely cover pan.
