  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • sifted flour - 2 c
  • sq - 2 oz

How to make chocolate crinkles:

Cream the shortening, sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs, then chocolate. Sift dry ingredients together; blend in alternately with milk. Add nuts. Chill 3 hours. Form into 1-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 350° for about 13 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan. Do not overbake; bake just until set. Makes 4 dozen.
