Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • almond extract - 1/4 tsp
  • sifted powdered sugar - 4 5
  • milk chocolate chips
  • paraffin
  • jars maraschino cherries, well drained - 2 item

How to make chocolate covered cherries:

Chocolate Coating:2 c. milk chocolate chips approximately 1 1/3 oz. paraffin Mix butter, milk, extract, sugar and vanilla (mixture should be wet but not sticky). Flatten teaspoon mixture in hand. Place cherry in center, cover and seal. Place on tray and put in freezer.

Melt chocolate and paraffin in top of double boiler. (Keep water out of chocolate). If chocolate is too thick, thin with 1 teaspoon shortening. Best dipping temperature (67° or 68°). Use small fork to dip frozen centers. Dip, then tap fork on pan side to remove excess chocolate. Place on wax paper.
