  • flour - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar - 6 Tbsp
  • white sugar - 6 Tbsp
  • unbeaten egg - 1 item
  • hot water - 1/4 tsp
  • walnuts - 1/2 c
  • chocolate chips - 1 pkg
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp

How to make chocolate chip oatmeal cookies:

Sift the flour with salt and soda. Thoroughly mix the shortening, sugars and egg until light and fluffy. Add flour and rest of ingredients. Mix until well mixed. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
