Chili mac
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- water - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/3 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- uncooked elbow macaroni - 1 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- can kidney beans undrained - 1 oz
How to make chili mac:
In a large skillet, cook meat, onion and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. (Electric skillet at 350°.) Drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, salt and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then add macaroni. Cover and reduce heat to low (220°). Simmer, stirring frequently, until macaroni is cooked (about 10 to 15 minutes). Remove the bay leaf before serving. Serves 6.Recipe categories: < 30 mins, Main dish, For 1 or 2.
