Chicken fricassee
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chicken broth - 1 item
- sliced mushrooms
- sliced onions - 2 c
- chicken, cut in parts - 1 item
How to make chicken fricassee:
In pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chicken, a few pieces at a time. Brown well on both sides. Remove chicken and pour off excess fat. Add onions and mushrooms. Stirring frequently, cook 5 minutes or until tender. Add broth, salt and pepper. Return chicken to pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 to 30 minutes. Remove chicken and keep warm.In a small bowl, stir together cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir into pot. Stirring constantly, bring to boil 1 minute. Return chicken to sauce. Serve over rice or noodles if desired.
