Ingredients/Components

  • garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • chopped carrots - 1/2 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • oregano leaves - 1/8 tsp
  • large chicken breasts - 2 item
  • water add water when needed - 4 c

How to make chicken broth:

In a large pot, combine all ingredients. Cook for 2 hours. Remove chicken and strain broth; chill. Discard fat from broth. Broth can be frozen. Use to cook potatoes, vegetables, cornbread dressing, dumplings or gravy. Refrigerate no more than 2 days. Chicken breasts can be used for salad, dressings, noodles, soup, stir-fry or chicken enchiladas.
