Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- milk - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- egg yolks - 4 item
- cornmeal - 2 Tbsp
- 9-inch unbaked pie shell - 1 item
How to make chess pie:
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks, cornmeal and salt. Mix in milk. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake until set. Serve it plain or with a meringue made with the four egg whites.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
