  • sugar - 2 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • cornmeal - 2 Tbsp
  • 9-inch unbaked pie shell - 1 item

How to make chess pie:

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks, cornmeal and salt. Mix in milk. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake until set. Serve it plain or with a meringue made with the four egg whites.
