Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• shortening - 1/2 c
• maraschino cherries - 1 (5
• cherry juice add water to make 1/2 c - 1/2 c

How to make cherry nut bread:

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat and add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with cherry juice to batter. Add cherries, nuts and vanilla. Pour into 9 x 5-inch greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
