Cherry coconut bars
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- flour - 1 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- powdered sugar - 3 Tbsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- quartered maraschino cherries - 1/2 c
How to make cherry coconut bars:
Heat oven to 350°. With hands or pastry blender, mix 1 cup flour, margarine and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread thin with fingers in 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan. Bake about 25 minutes. Stir all remaining ingredients into beaten eggs. Spread over base. Bake 25 minutes more. Cool. Makes 20 (3 x 1-inch) bars.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Bar cookie.
