Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 2 Tbsp

How to make pound cake:

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with eggs (one at a time). Add lemon juice, vanilla and salt. Bake in a greased and floured Bundt pan at 300° for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before removing from pan.
