Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- plain flour - 2 c
- white syrup - 1 tsp
- Crisco oil
- small can crushed pineapple - 1 item
- can Angel Flake coconut - 1 oz
- finely grated carrots - 2 c
How to make carrot cake:
Topping:1 c. sugar1/2 c. buttermilk1 tsp. white syrup1/2 tsp. soda1 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan or 2 loaf pans or three 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 325° until done.Topping: Mix in saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil 5 minutes. Pour over hot cake.
Orange icing on this cake is also good if used and spread on layers, sides and top of cakes.
