Caramel sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
How to make caramel sauce:
In large heavy skillet, heat sugar over very low heat. Stir constantly until melted and light golden brown. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in 1 cup hot water; bring to boiling point. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture thickens slightly or reaches 228° on candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Add butter, salt and vanilla. Let cool.
