  • popped corn - 4 qt
  • packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • light Karo corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp

How to make caramel popcorn:

Place popped corn in a large roasting or baking pan and set aside. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine and salt in a saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and boil 4 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over popped corn; toss to coat well . Bake at 250° for 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool, break apart and store in an airtight container.
