Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- evaporated milk - 8 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- light brown sugar - 3/4 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- bag Kraft caramels - 1 item
How to make caramel bars:
Melt caramels and evaporated milk. Mix together flour, quick oats, light brown sugar, baking soda, salt and butter. In a 9 x 9-inch baking pan, spread 3/4 of the crumb mixture. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Right out of the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over hot crumb mixture, then pour melted caramel over chocolate chips. Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Let cool in pan, then refrigerate overnight, then re-cut and remove from pan.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Bar cookie.
