  • sugar - 4 lb
  • vinegar - 2 c
  • pickling spices - 3 Tbsp
  • whole dill pickles - 1 gal

How to make candied dill pickles:

Slice pickles and cover with ice; when it melts (about 5 hours), drain. Mix sugar, vinegar and pickling spices. Pour over pickles. Let stand for 3 days, stirring every day. (Do not cover.) Put in jars on the third day.
