  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shredded coconut - 1 c
  • chopped walnuts - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • butter and lard, mixed - 1 c

How to make butterscotch cookies:

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients, then coconut and walnuts. Bake in a moderate oven.
