sugar - 1 c
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
flour - 3 c
brown sugar - 1 c
oil - 1/2 c
soda - 1 tsp
shortening - 1/2 c
dash of salt - 1 item
cream of tartar - 1 tsp

How to make butterscotch cookies:

Cream together first 6 ingredients. Mix together the flour, soda, and cream of tartar. Add to cream mixture with the vanilla. Roll into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F. for a minute or two until lightly browned. They will be chewy.
