Buttermilk pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- confectioners sugar
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 4 Tbsp
- orange juice - 6 Tbsp
- orange extract - 1 Tbsp
- lemon extract - 1 Tbsp
- flour, sifted 3 times - 3 c
How to make buttermilk pound cake:
Glaze:2 1/2 c. confectioners sugar4 Tbsp. lemon juice6 Tbsp. orange juice Cake: Have all ingredients at room temperature. Put in bowl and beat all at one time until smooth, at least 5 minutes. Put in well greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.Glaze: Mix all together and beat well. When cake is done, loosen edges of pan, pour over cake and return to oven for 3 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
