Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- brown sugar, packed - 1 c
- Stir in milk and vanilla
How to make butter cookies:
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Stir in nuts. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 375°. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes. While warm frost with Burnt Butter Glaze. Makes 4 dozen.Burnt Butter Glaze:2 Tbsp. butter2 c. confectioners sugar1/4 c. evaporated milk Heat butter until golden brown.
