Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- semi-sweet chocolate - 3 oz
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- water - 5 Tbsp
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- large eggs - 3 item
- sifted flour - 1 c
- soft butter
- xxx sugar - 1 lb
- coffee to make spreadable icing - 1 item
How to make buche de noel:
Chocolate Buttercream:1 c. soft butter1 lb. xxx sugar3 oz. semi-sweet chocolate coffee to make spreadable icing Beat eggs until thick. Gradually add sugar, then beat in water and vanilla. Sift on dry ingredients and mix in just until blended. Oil jelly roll pan and line it with a sheet of waxed paper and oil the paper. Place cake dough in prepared pan and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Turn out on a dish towel and roll up until cool. Fill with Chocolate Buttercream and roll up. Place on serving plate and ice with remaining buttercream.
