Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 2 3
- salt
- flour
- cocoa
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- nuts optional - 1 c
- white Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp
- margarine, soft - 1/2 c
- white shortening
How to make brownies:
Cream eggs, sugar and 1 1/3 cups shortening. Add flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Mix well. Add Karo syrup and vanilla. Add nuts if desired. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes. Can be baked in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch jelly roll pan. Cream 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2 cup margarine and vanilla. Add powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa.
