Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- unsweetened chocolate 2 oz - 2 sq
How to make brownies:
Melt together over hot water in double boiler chocolate and shortening. Beat in the sugar and eggs. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt, then add nuts. Spread in well-greased 8-inch square pan (8 x 8 x 2-inch). Bake until top has dull crust. A slight imprint will be left when top is touched lightly with finger. Cool slightly, then cut into squares.
