Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 6 item
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 3/4 lb
  • slices sandwich bread - 12 item
  • dash of seasoned salt - 1 item
  • dash of dry mustard - 1 item
  • chopped parsley as garnish - 1 item

How to make breakfast casserole:

Trim crusts from bread and cut into cubes. Beat eggs and milk; add seasonings. Lightly butter a 2 quart casserole dish. Line bottom with one half of the bread cubes and sprinkle with 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat cheese and bread layers, then pour milk and egg mixture over all.

Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with parsley. Return to oven and bake 10 minutes more. Serves 8.
