Ingredients/Components

  • cucumbers, washed and sliced - 6 qt
  • sliced onions and bell peppers - 1 qt
  • water - 9 qt
  • salt - 1 c
  • vinegar - 3 pt
  • white mustard seed - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 3 lb
  • celery seed - 1 tsp
  • turmeric - 1 Tbsp

How to make bread and butter pickles:

Heat to boiling; add vegetables. Bring to a boil again, but do not let boil. Pack jars and seal.
