Bread and butter pickles
Ingredients/Components
- cucumbers, washed and sliced - 6 qt
- sliced onions and bell peppers - 1 qt
- water - 9 qt
- salt - 1 c
- vinegar - 3 pt
- white mustard seed - 1 tsp
- sugar - 3 lb
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- turmeric - 1 Tbsp
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Heat to boiling; add vegetables. Bring to a boil again, but do not let boil. Pack jars and seal.Recipe given to me by Mrs. Berniece Norwood many years ago.
