Bread and butter pickles

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 5 c
• salt - 1/5 c
• water - 1 c
• vinegar - 3 c
• green peppers - 4 item
• turmeric
• onions - 6 item
• cucumbers - 12 item
• pickling spice - 1 Tbsp

How to make bread and butter pickles:

Slice cucumbers, onions and pepper and soak in salt water for 1 hour, then drain. Cover with ice cubes for 1/2 hour. Mix sugar, vinegar, spices and water. Bring to hard boil. Put in cucumbers, onions and peppers. Boil again for about 1 minute, hard.
