Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 5 c
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- small onions - 8 item
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric
- cucumbers - 1 gal
- bell peppers green - 2 item
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Slice cucumbers, onions and bell peppers into thin slices and sprinkle with salt. Add 1 quart of cracked ice. Cover for 3 hours. Make syrup of remaining ingredients and pour over pickles.
