  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/8 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 1/2 pkg
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • walnuts - 1/2 c

How to make blonde brownies:

Mix dry ingredients; set aside. Melt shortening; let cool. Add 1 tablespoon hot water. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
