Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- sour cream - 1/2 pt
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- black walnut flavoring - 1 tsp
- box 10x sugar - 1 item
- black walnuts, chopped - 1 c
- Cream sugar, Crisco and margarine until smooth
How to make black walnut pound cake:
Take 2 tablespoons flour and coat nuts; set aside. Cream sugar, Crisco and margarine until smooth. Add eggs, 1 at a time until well blended. Add sour cream, blend. Alternate dry ingredients with milk. Add flour and nuts; blend well. Grease angel food cake pan and flour. Bake at 325° for 1 hour, turn oven temperature to 300° for 1/2 hour. Check cake last 30 minutes. May not require that time.Frosting:4 oz. sour cream1/2 stick butter2 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. black walnut flavoring1 box 10x sugar Blend first 4 ingredients until smooth.
