Black forest pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- milk - 1/3 c
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- can cherry pie filling - 1 oz
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- baking cocoa - 1/3 c
- unbaked pastry shell 9-inch - 1 item
- whipped topping optional - 1 item
How to make black forest pie:
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, flour and milk until it is smooth. Add butter. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into eggs. Return all to the pan. Fold in half of the pie filling. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until filling is almost set. Cool completely on a wire rack. Just before serving, top with remaining pie filling and whipped topping, if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
