Black-bottom banana bars
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- baking cocoa - 1/4 c
- mashed ripe bananas about 3 medium
How to make black-bottom banana bars:
In a mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Add egg and vanilla; beat until thoroughly combined. Blend in bananas. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Divide batter in half. Add cocoa to half; spread into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Spoon remaining batter over top and swirl with a knife. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until the bars test done. Cool. Yield: 2 1/2 to 3 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Breads.
