Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- water - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1 lb
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
- can Hungry Jack buttermilk biscuits - 1 item
How to make biscuit topped italian casserole:
Grease 12 x 8-inch (2-quart) baking dish. Brown ground beef and onion; drain. Stir in water, pepper, tomato sauce and paste. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in vegetables and 1 1/2 cups cheese. Spoon mixture into baking dish. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Place biscuits near outer edge of meat mixture, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle remaining cheese in center and around edge. Gently brush biscuits with margarine. Sprinkle with oregano.
