Biscuit topped italian casserole
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- margarine, melted - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- Mozzarella cheese - 8 oz
- can biscuits - 1 oz
- can mixed vegetables, thawed - 1 oz
How to make biscuit topped italian casserole:
Heat oven to 375°. Grease a 12 x 8-inch baking dish. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion. Drain. Stir in water, pepper, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.Remove from heat and stir in vegetables and 1 1/2 cups of cheese. Spoon mixture into casserole. Separate biscuits and place on outer edge of casserole, overlapping slightly. Add remaining cheese.
Gently brush biscuits with margarine and sprinkle with oregano. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serves 6 to 8.
