Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt
- flour - 6 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- ground beef
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- yeast - 2 pkg
- medium head cabbage - 1/4 item
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
- all-bran cereal - 1 c
How to make bierocks:
Filling:1 1/2 lb. ground beef1/4 medium head cabbage1 onion, chopped salt Rolls: In a large bowl, pour boiling water over the all-bran. Add sugar, shortening and salt. Let cool, then add beaten eggs. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water and add to mixture. Add flour and mix. Let rise, then punch down and fill.Filling: Cook the meat, cabbage and chopped onion for 20 to 30 minutes in a tightly covered pan. Allow to cool.
Assembly: Pinch off a ball of dough and flatten. Put a tablespoon or so of the filling on each roll. Fold and seal. Place on a greased baking pan with the folded side down. Let rise. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
