Ingredients/Components
- water - 1/2 c
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- tomato juice - 1 c
- beef stew meat
- medium carrots, peeled and sliced - 4 item
- medium potatoes, peeled and quartered - 4 item
- can mushroom gravy - 1 1/2
How to make beef stew bake:
Cut stew meat in 1-inch cubes. In a heavy skillet, brown meat in hot oil; drain off excess fat. Combine gravy, tomato juice, water, soup mix and stir into meat. Simmer covered for 5 minutes. Place potatoes and carrots in a 2-quart casserole. Top with meat mixture. Bake covered at 350° until meat and potatoes are tender, 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring once or twice during baking.
