Beef ragout
Ingredients/Components
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- cans cream of mushroom soup - 2 item
- water chestnuts optional - 1 item
- port wine - 1/2 c
- lean stew meat, remove any gristle and fat - 3 lb
- small box fresh mushrooms, cut in bite-size pieces - 1 item
How to make beef ragout:
Place all ingredients in a casserole dish. Stir well; bake about 3 hours at 325°. Very good served over brown rice. (For a crisp taste, a small can of water chestnuts may be added; very good without them, however.)Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, One Dish meal.
