Beef bourguignon
Ingredients/Components
- flour
- pepper - 1 item
- red wine - 1 c
- mushrooms - 1/2 lb
- marjoram - 1 item
- thyme - 1 item
- beef bouillon - 1/2 c
- bacon drippings - 2 Tbsp
- small onions, sliced - 10 item
- chuck, lean, inch cubes - 2 lb
- generous pinch of salt - 1 item
How to make beef bourguignon:
Brown onions in drippings. Take out and add meat. After browning, add flour, salt, pepper, marjoram and thyme.Add beef bouillon and red wine. Let simmer 3 1/4 hours. Put onions back in and add mushrooms. Cook 3/4 hour. Sauce is thick. Add more bouillon if too thick.
