- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
- sticks butter, softened - 3 item
- plain flour, sifted
- eggs, at room temperature - 5 item
How to make basic pound cake:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter until light. Add sugar to butter gradually until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add flour and milk to the creamed batter, beginning and ending with the flour gradually. Blend lemon and vanilla flavorings.
