Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 1/3 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- egg, lightly beaten - 1 item
- yellow corn meal - 1 c
How to make cornbread:
Combine corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Combine milk, oil and egg in small bowl; mix well. Add milk mixture to flour mixture; stir just until blended. Pour into greased 8-inch square pan. Bake in preheated 400° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.Note: Recipe may be doubled. Use greased 13 x 9-inch pan; bake as instructed.
