Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- nuts - 1 c
- Crisco - 1/3 c
- bananas - 4 item
- yellow food coloring optional - 1 item
- or more powdered sugar
- soda dissolved in 4 Tbsp - 1 tsp
- Crisco or 2 sticks oleo - 1 c
- Bake in tube or Bundt pan
How to make banana nut cake:
Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Bake in tube or Bundt pan. We eat this like a pound cake with no frosting. You can use frosting if desired. Use frosting recipe below.Frosting:1/2 c. milk2 1/2 Tbsp. flour1/3 c. Crisco1/2 c. sugar1/4 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. nuts1 1/2 c. or more powdered sugar yellow food coloring (optional) Into milk, add flour. Cook until thick. Cool to lukewarm. Cream Crisco, sugar and salt. Add to paste. Beat until fluffy. Add vanilla, nuts and powdered sugar. Add small amount of yellow food coloring if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Egg.
